Manjishtha is known as best blood-purifying herb in Ayurveda. It purifies the blood. Manjishtha is used in treatment of recurrent skin infections and other diseases of the skin like pigmentation anomalies and leucoderma, gynecological problems, like white discharge and irregular menstruation. It is useful in skin infections, ulcers, inflammation and other skin related disorders. It also has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action.

It gains luster or glow of the skin.

  Its red root has a specific affinity for the blood and all imbalances affecting it.
  Stops bleeding by cooling the 'heat' that causes bleeding and also clears congested blood that is another cause of bleeding.
  It acts as a vulnerary and hastens healing time of skin trauma.
  Useful in signs of congested uterus and pain, yonishula- painful periods, clots and amenorrhea.
  Manjishta breaks accumulations of kapha in bladder, liver, kidneys especially for kidney and bladder stones.
